Haven Support Services started operating in the Morecambe area in 2001 commenced its support services in March 2003 to provide support to three people with a Learning Disability living in their own home in Morecambe. The property was rented from an Independent Landlord with each person holding a tenancy agreement.

The support services are based in office accommodation on Claremont Road, Morecambe. A large ground floor area provides a meeting area for Service users, Staff and Visitors, whilst upstairs accommodation offers private Managers office and a large staff training/meeting room. Haven Support Services offers services to adults and children living in their own homes or supported tenancy schemes.

Each person has their own package of care support to enable them to maximise their independence and gain additional skills. Our Personal Care service is individualised, Person Centred and deliver valued outcomes, as we passionately believe that our service users have the right to live lives that are meaningful and which enable them to reach their full potential as individuals. We recruit people who share our values and throughout all our training the Person Centred principles are evident.

Supported Living

Haven Support Services works alongside a West Midlands based Charity, Ellys Extra Care in identifying suitable properties to rent to people with Learning Disabilities, Mental Health and other needs. We will work with you to identify an appropriate support package that is flexible and creates opportunities in the community and establish links.

Haven Support Services staff work with people who have a wide spectrum of needs, using Person Centred Approach and ordinary life principles. Staff can assist service users in all aspects of daily living. This ranges from personal care support to supporting a person to use a leisure activity or attend college.

Haven Support Services works hard to build relationships with the individual receiving their care and their friends and family members. We use a variety of different Person Centred tools to help us find out what is most important to the individual and their aspirations and goals. These plans and goals are regularly reviewed and changes made according to needs and aspirations.

Home Care

Haven Support Services staff are able to support Service Users on their own or parental homes. Packages of support start from one hour upwards. Home Care enables individuals to stay in their own homes or with families but to follow their own goals and aspirations such as attending college, social activities or being able to work.

We offer respite to families by providing a few hours a week support into their home or going out into the community with the individual or we can provide full care within their home while carers go away for a short break.

Haven Support services embraces the range of funding options available to service users enabling greater choice and control over how and when they wish to receive support. Haven Support Services currently support people who receive a range of benefits including Direct Payments and ILF. We work closely with the Local Authority and are often commissioned by NHS Trusts. Referrals can be made directly to us or through your GP or Social Services.
